Google As a Fashion Statement

Look what I found on one of my favorite geeky blogs — Search Engine Land. It’s Google-inspired fashion. Oh my stars. Specifically it’s the “Oogle sari” from Satya Paul’s latest collection.

I’ve been known to wear a hard drive as jewelry, but don’t you think this is ever so much more web diva?

Fortunately for my budget, white is not particularly becoming on me. But what if he comes out with an OS X line? Or how about an iPhone sari? I can see it now. Yards and yards of black and gleaming silver with a smattering of handsome icons, plus matching dangle earrings, which are, in fact, ear buds.

Black Turtleneck Day

Tomorrow, Tuesday January 15, I’ll be wearing a black turtleneck.

It’s not that I’m an Apple zealot nor is it a statement of solidarity, although I do like many of their products — a lot. In truth it’s just one less early-morning wardrobe decision.

No jeans, though.

Some people look a lot better in dungarees than others.

Do All Web Divas Pick Pockets?

I confess. Whenever I must buy clothes (a less than favorite pastime), my goal is to pick items with lots of pockets. It doesn’t matter if it’s a shirt, jacket, vest, skirt or pants. It has to have pockets. The more the better.

The fashionista will tell you pockets “ruin the line.” I can only assume the fashionista don’t really use their iPhones, etc., etc. They just wave them around as pretty trinkets to be stuffed into one of those massive, backbreaking purses. Ugh.

The lowly pocket not only holds lots of gear and keys, it makes such items easy to access and less likely to get lost. To my eye, a good pocket is a thing of beauty. Give me a chunky, iPhone-packed pocket over a sleek line any day.
